Raw Hide/ Parchment
Rawhide is the untreated hide, usually with the hair removed. It has many practical uses, like in drum making, to tie things together, etc...
As it dries it tightens up which makes for very strong bindings; and of course dogs love it.
We also make parchment (medieval paper) by stretching the thin skins of young animals and sanding them. Books made out of deer hide parchment make great hunting journals. They are also a great medium for artists to work on.
Send us a note if you are interested in getting some parchment or having a book made out of your deer hides.
Cost for a medium rawhide deer skin: $ 40.
